Shades is the story of group of kids with the power of Shades who fight a group of megalomaniacs called the Shade Effect, whose main purpose is to take all the Shade power. But as the story runs deeper, it turns out that there are enemies outside the Shade Effect and an even bigger story about Shades themselves.

Basic Plotline

Tsuyoi, Meari, Henu, Radia and Shin are five kids with Shade powers. There mission is to stop the power-hungry soldiers known as the Shade Effect ad rescue all of the Shades. The Shade Effect's sole purpose is to "contain" all the Shade power to use for their own use.

I See Green, Part 1"Yanappu~!"
I rub my Yanappu behind his ear. He crawls off my shoulder and dived into the grocery bag I was holding. He pops back out a few seconds later, his cheeks filled with his Pokemon food. He crawls back on my shoulder and continues to eat it.
"Yanappu, some of that is for Baoppu and Hiyappu! Don't eat it all!" Yanappu nods and continues eating it, as I laugh. I look around Hiun City, and take in the beauty of it, considering that I don't go there often. You see, there was something here in Hiun City that I couldn't find in Sanyou City. I come here every week to find that Pokemon food, which all of our monkey absolutely love.

AAAAAAAAAY.

It's been a while since I've uploaded a deviation, so here, take this meme- /throws

The first picture is one you've never seen before. Why, you ask? Because after I started getting better, I thought it was terrible OTL.

That right there, my friends, is my very first manga drawing. EVER. It's fanart from the CLAMP anime/manga series Cardcaptor Sakura. I spent so much time on that xP...

Well, let's see how I did, then!

My proportions have changed dramatically since my first drawing. Still not 100% or pro-level, but it's getting there.

I used to only have one option for drawing - traditional. In the year since, I've not only gotten a tablet, but I've drawn digitally ( using MS Paint at first, but now it's Corel Paint Essentials )

Dem eyes...the first ones are terrible...'nuff said.

The first picture has no hands. LOL. The second one does, although they're still terrible hands...xP

Picture quality. I know I can't compare the two, since one wasn't taken by a camera, but yeah.

Noses. The first one has no nose xD The second one has a shadow where the nose is supposed to be. I'll work on it.

My signature. The first one ( originally written in pencil but I wrote over it ) is just an E with a heart. The second one is my full name with a heart over the 'i' in my last name.

Backgrounds. LOL there's not much to compare, both of them are just scribbles. But the newer one is prettier.

I only got that result thanks to layering.

Shading. I was never really good with shading using a pencil, but since I draw digitally now, it makes it look better with nice shading

I'm not 100% with shading, but I'm also working on it.

....you know, I forgot the gloves on the second one ( YES THAT'S WHAT THEY WERE ON THE FIRST ONE LOL ). Oh well, I do not feel like drawing anymore today....aaah, I'm schleepy...I've been feeling weird all week, it was hard enough forcing this drawing outta me xD...my artistic creativity is dying down and I'm sad D:

I won't be able to draw as much as before, since high school starts next week ( NOOOOOOOO ) so I'll try to spam you with art until then. When the school year starts, expect doodles.

I like your original posing better, however your improvement is apparent! Your style has changed from a chibi-eske for a more human one and you have changed mediums. It's hard to compare pictures though when you use two different mediums. :/ Good luck and keep moving!

The only thing that could've made it better was if you added color. I mean, I like black and white but some color would've been nice, but that's just me and my obsession with colors.

Although, the original was really cute. The newer one is prettier, but I still like the original. I also like the original's background better. More complete. Call me weird, I dunno, it's just a personal preferrence.

Altogether, really nice.

And to be honest, the first background was just as half-butted as the second one. It was just harder to do since I couldn't get behind her.

Meaning, I thought the original was cute. It may not have been the best drawing ever but it was cute. The new one is a lot more proportional and elegantly drawn.

I love pencil scribble that's why I like it better.

Then why do you draw and upload if you think you're so terrible?
